Meet the Jurors for the 2021 Virtual Juried Art Show

Gale Johansen

2-D/3-D Juror

Seattle-born mixed media and 3-dimensional artist, Gale Johansen, lives in Snohomish and works from her home studio.  Gale constructs a personal narrative using humor and whimsical characters, topped off with thought provoking titles.  Interpretation of each piece is left to the viewer.  Her art displays a fun and creative look at the world around her.

After obtaining her diploma from the Burnley School of Professional Art, Gale pursued a B.F.A. in Printmaking from the University of Washington.  Over the past 35 years, her work has been exhibited at the Bellevue Art Museum, Revolution Gallery, Solovei Gallery, Museo, Lowell Artworks, and Red Door Gallery, among others.  Her pieces are included in the Lynnwood Arts Commission collection and numerous private collections.

Gale's art has been published in the NW Poets and Artists Calendar, Washington North Coast Magazine and The Herald.  She was honored as the Schack Art Center's 2017 Artist of the Year.
